Welcome to my Catholic mom blog, where I share helpful tips for mothers, home schooling resources, and prayers for the family. My goal is to encourage mothers to be the best mothers they can be!

Hello, I’m Laura!
I’m a cradle Catholic, born and raised in Virginia. I have 2 children 2 and under, and I’m a stay-at-home mom, thanks to my hard-working husband. My husband and I met on Catholic Match in 2019 and married each other a year later. When we got married, I moved to Pennsylvania so that he could stay at his job. I love Pennsylvania, but I empathize with other moms who have to parent without family close by to help.
Being a mom has always been a great desire of mine. When I was really young, I used to pretend to nurse my baby dolls. And when I got older, I would play with my American Girl dolls for hours at a time! Now that I have 2 little ones, I know how difficult motherhood can be. But I love my kids, and caring for them adds so much meaning to my life.
In addition to being a mom, I have dreamed of home schooling my children since I was young. I was home schooled myself until college. I used to try to teach my younger siblings, though I lacked the patience then to teach them well. And I used to have fun making miniature math books for my dolls and “teaching” them. I have always loved school, and I can’t wait to home school my children when they grow up.
Some fun facts about me:
- I have been dancing since the age of 7. I danced competitively as a teenager and danced 20 hours a week in my late teens! Now that I have kids, I just take one ballet class on the weekends. It is my weekly getaway and I love it!
- I also love the piano, and I teach a few students at home when my husband is here in the evenings to watch the kids. My favorite piece to play is Chopin’s Fantasie-Impromptu.
- One more hobby of mine is sewing. I like to sew clothes for myself since it is difficult to find cute, modest clothes in stores. Actually, I sewed my wedding dress! Well, I sewed the bodice and attached it to a tulle skirt I bought on Etsy. So, I didn’t sew the entire dress, but I drafted the pattern for the bodice from scratch, and I am very proud of my wedding dress!
- I love pumpkin pie! When Thanksgiving and Christmas come around each year, I usually make 2 pumpkin pies, 1 for my family and 1 for me!
